At 200lb, this paper is substantial enough to handle generous washes, and the gelatine tub-sizing keeps paint on the surface rather than letting it sink in. Pigment dries bright and sharp, and the surface takes lifting, scrubbing and reworking. This paper is suitable for watercolour, acrylics, pastels, oils, mixed media and many printmaking processes.

Our Half Imperial shades are made by hand in small batches at our mill in Watchet, Somerset.
Cotton and linen fibre, broken down in our Hollander beaters, is formed sheet by sheet on traditional moulds and deckles, giving each one four natural deckle edges and a strength that sets handmade rag paper apart from anything machine-made.
At 200lb, each sheet is substantial enough to handle generous washes, and the gelatine tub-sizing keeps paint on the surface rather than letting it sink in. Pigment dries bright and sharp, and the surface takes lifting, scrubbing and reworking.
It takes three to four days from raw fibre to finished sheet. Suitable for watercolour, acrylics, oils, pastels, printmaking, and photographic processes.
