Plein Air Glued Spine Sketch Pads 300/400 gsm

Sixteen pages of 300/400gsm (140lb/200lb) TR cotton and linen rag handmade paper.

Bound with a deckled fore-edge and heavyweight grey board backing.

The glued spine holds each sheet firmly while you work, and lets you tear cleanly along the edge when you’re done.

Made for artists who work on location ~ tough enough for the outdoors and all weathers!

The paper is suitable for watercolour, acrylics, oils and pastels. The linen in the mix means you can scrub back and rework without the surface giving up on you.

Available in A4, A5, 21cm and 15cm square formats.

Landscape books are glued along the long edge.

Questions about our Paper?

There are very few mills in Europe still making paper this way. At Two Rivers, every sheet is formed by hand from a blend of cotton and linen, using traditional moulds and deckles that give each one its own natural deckle edge. Gelatine tub-sizing finishes the surface, which keeps paint fluid and workable, and allows pigment to dry to a sharp, bright finish.

The whole process, from the unprocessed fibre to the final sheet, takes three to four working days. The paper is suitable for watercolour, acrylics, oils, pastels, printmaking, and mixed media.

Purchased A5: Easily tucked into a bag or large pocket for travels. Sturdy paper and backing board make it comfortably rigid. The glued spine has a smoother profile than the prior ringbound, making it easier to pack, carry, and hold. Lightweight and easy on the hand when working without an easel. Glorious paper in portable format.
