4 Sheet Pack “Girtin” Antique Cream Laid 140lb / 300 gsm (Not)
Full Imperial Sheets 56 x 76cm
Handmade rag watercolour paper ~ Tub-sized with gelatine.
This paper is made from cotton and linen rag, with other fibre inclusions, to recreate the tones and surfaces familiar to artists in the late 18th Century. These papers are flecked with fragments of unbleached hemp fibre.
The laid watermark is more prominent on one side and both sides of the sheet can be painted on with equal effect. There maybe some colour variation between batches, although we do try to keep this to a minimum.
Please be aware that we make limited numbers of the Heritage papers. If you would like us to add your name to the waiting list to be alerted when stock becomes available please email us at tworiverspaper@gmail.com

Questions about our Paper?
There are very few mills in Europe still making paper this way.
At Two Rivers, every sheet is formed by hand from a blend of cotton and linen, using traditional methods and moulds and deckles that give each one its own natural deckle edge. Gelatine tub-sizing keeps paint fluid and workable, and allows pigment to dry to a sharp, brilliant result. The whole process, from fibre to finished sheet, takes three to four working days.
The paper is suitable for watercolour, acrylics, oils, pastels, printmaking, and mixed media.

This unique paper is a delight to use !! It has a warm cream base which has a glowing effect on the finished work,
I used this 140lb paper unstretched and applied numerous full and detailed washes wh.ich it handled with absolute ease.
I would highly recommend it !!!
