The Fauve is the same 200lb cotton and linen rag paper as our standard 16×20″ sheets, but made with deliberately pronounced deckle edges ~ feathery, irregular, and very much part of the finished piece. Perfect for float mounting.
Both sides of the sheet can be painted on with equal confidence.
The surface handles watercolour, acrylics, inks, pastels and mixed media.

Questions about our Paper?
All our products are handmade by skilled craftspeople using traditional methods. Each sheet is created from a blend of cotton and linen that has been broken down into individual fibres using the mill’s Hollander beaters.
The gentle air-drying process and gelatine sizing enhance the paper’s strength. Our sizing method allows artists to easily manipulate paint on the surface, or even to remove it. The paint does not absorb into the paper, allowing the pigment to dry to a sharp, brilliant finish. The entire making process, from start to finish, takes 3 to 4 working days.

It was a birthday gift from my son, a pack of ‘Fauve’ as well as a ‘200lb Quarter Imperial Deckle Edged Sheets’ pack. What a discovery. I love them. I mainly used acrylic inks and the result is great. I shall certainly get more and shall recommend it.
